NEW DELHI : The state education department recently celebrated improved performance of government schools in the just-concluded Board exams.
However, teachers and students were missing from the party. Present at the Jaipur junket were all zonal education officers, directors of districts, regional directors and other senior officials of the department.
Interestingly, while both the Maidens party and the Jaipur seminar were organised with a view to celebrate students and teachers performances, none of the two included any teacher or student.
For them there are other, less grand plans. To encourage the principals, we will be holding a conference at Vigyan Bhavan, that again will be a daylong thing with lunch etc.
