Jaipur : Pet lovers in Jaipur Sunday thronged a unique dog auction, organised by a pet shop, with the highest bid touching Rs. 200,000 ($4,300).
In this auction, the bidding starts at one rupee and could go to any amount. It provides an opportunity for pet lovers to take away quality breed dogs at a very cheap price, said Viren Sharma of International dog Bazar (IDB).
Around 100 pups, including some of rare breeds, were showcased, kept in an open cage.
The highest biding took place for a bullmastiff for Rs.200,000 and the cheapest one was of a boxer for Rs.530.
The Siberian husky from Ukraine, bloodhound from Portugal, French bulldog and British bulldog were some of the breeds auctioned at high prices.
