JAIPUR — An eminent doctor and senior Rajasthan cricket administrator has been appointed as the coordinator for the two-match one-day series between India and Pakistan to be held in Abu Dhabi on April 18 and 19.
The Board for Control of Cricket in India has appointed Dr Bimal Soni, a former Ranji Trophy player and deputy vice-president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, as coordinator for the Indo-Pak Friendship cricket series being held to aid victims of the earthquake that hit India and Pakistan last year.
Dr Soni left for Abu Dhabi yesterday morning to take the charge of the organising committee. Dr Soni, who is also president of the Jaipur District Cricket Association, has rich experience in the field of organising international cricket matches. He was instrumental in successfully organising a one-day warm-up match between England and the Rajasthan Cricket Association Presidents XI on March 25 and the India-Sri Lanka one-day tie in September last year.
