Hero Honda (Q, N, C, F) Motors has improved by 2.01% (1:49 pm) after the company unveiled its plans of setting up a third unit in Rajasthan.
The automobile majors shares last traded at Rs 760.25 as compared with its previous close of Rs 745.25. A total of 1, 47,582 shares have changed hands at the bourses on Tuesday, September 12, 2006.
However, the company made known that it is not putting off the Jaipur production plan.
The company is hopeful of receiving government clearance, according to Hero Honda MD Pawan Munjal. Once the regulatory approval is granted, the company would immediately go ahead with the project, he added.
An additional plant, with a capacity of 1.5 million, would be set up at Haridwar in three years and is expected to start production by mid-2007.
