NAFED, the designated agency for pulses import, so far received nearly 78 per cent of 49,300 tonne of contracted moong and urad varieties.
The balance quanity is likely to be shipped within this week, an official release said
NAFED had contracted 49,300 metric tonne of two pulses varieties.
A total of 22,448 tonne of urad and 318 tonne of moong has been disposed of at an average price of Rs 33.06 and Rs 31.27 per kg respectively as on September 15.
NAFED has selected 10 centres, namely, Delhi, Chennai, Kanpur, Akola, Gulbarga, Bhubaneshwar, Amritsar, Jalgaon and Jaipur for distribution of the imported pulses.
Prices of gram dal remained constant in Agartala, Guwahati, Kolkata, shillong, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram.
However, prices of gram dal registered an increase in Delhi, Lucknow, Shimla, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Bangalore and Chennai.
