Jaipur - With the mercury hovering between 43 and 47 degrees Celsius in parts of Rajasthan, the heat wave conditions have paralysed life in the desert state.
The streets wore a deserted look as people preferred to stay indoors, as capital city Jaipur recorded 43.7 degrees, while Ajmer, Udaipur and Bikaner witnessed 43.5, 43.8 and 45 degrees respectively.
The heat wave conditions are likely to remain for the next 24 hours due to westerly winds, a senior official of the metrological department said here Tuesday.
Media reports say eight people have died in the past four days due to the heat, but officials deny these.
