Jaipur : UTI Mutual Fund (UTIMF), one of Indias leading asset management companies, was looking at tie-ups with micro-finance institutions (MFIs) in Rajasthan to provide a pension cover to workers in the unorganised sector.
UTI Mutual Fund has launched the first micro-pension initiative in the country for unorganised sector workers under its UTI Retirement Benefit Pension Fund to enable the self-employed people with very small incomes to share the benefits of the capital market, said S.K. Sinha, chairman and managing director UTI AMC Pvt Ltd.
We are looking at tie-ups with MFIs in Rajasthan to provide the pension cover to the unorganised sector workers, Sinha told reporters here Monday.
We hope to extend our micro-pension initiative to leading MFIs in Rajasthan. We are confident that the scheme will be able to reach at least one million low-income workers across the country in this financial year.
